# Stem-cell cultures, telomeres and skin

> Studies discussed at Miami Stem Cells — Miami Stem Cells reading list: gingival stem-cell markers, Epitalon telomeres, GHK-Cu collagen production, excised-skin penetration and background reviews.

The experimental papers and reviews discussed in the gallery.

## Gingival cells and chromosome ends

The [gingival stem-cell study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32019204/) is the collection's most unexpected starting point: cells from gum tissue and nerve-related differentiation markers. The [fetal-fibroblast telomerase experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12937682/) and the [normal-cell and cancer-cell comparison](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40908429/) concern chromosome ends instead.

I would place the later comparison beside the original experiment. It gives the lengthening result a complication worth examining, particularly the different dominant mechanism reported in breast-cancer cell lines. The [Epitalon overview](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40141333/) supplies wider mechanistic context and its own cautions about limited characterisation.

## Matrix and passage through skin

For matrix production, the [human fibroblast-culture experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3169264/) provides a specific laboratory result. The [skin-regeneration review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4508379/) and the [tissue-remodelling review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18644225/) supply broader context; both discuss other studies rather than reporting a single new clinical comparison.

The [human skin-penetration experiment](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3016279/) and the [topical GHK review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11830136/) address delivery. Full citation details appear below.
